Explain how your project affected you as a person. Through this process I grew immensely because it is a sort of self-run small business. I gained many more people and communication skills and even learned simple things like how to send a package. It made me feel like I was capable to accomplish things that are unfamiliar to me. How did you change? I became a more independent person through this because of the freedom to manage my own little business. Although it is no where near as difficult as running a real business, it does skim the surface of responsibility. This caused me to also be more accountable for myself. How do you see the world differently as a result of your experience? Because of the freedom that Depop gives you to sell what you want, I have become more open-minded about certain fashion choices and I understand that there is something out there for everyone. Even when the item being sold seems crazy, there is still someone out there that would like to buy it. I have leaned to respect the choices that other people make even if I would not personally make those choices. How did this experience impact or reveal your career? This experience caused me to explore the idea of pursuing marketing or business in college. I enjoy selling my items and finding creative ways to present them, so maybe a marketing career is in my future. Although I am not planning to pursue this in college, it is a good back-up plan. Was this a meaningful experience? Why or why not? Yes, this experience was meaningful to me. I am grateful for everything that I have leaned through my mentor and the process of buying and selling from my own online store. I have learned that things do not always work out perfectly. But, I have also learned that there are ways to work around what goes wrong to make it right. I have gained confidence in my ability to be independent as well. What new knowledge or skills did you learn form this experience? I gained knowledge about how money and businesses work. I leaned how to work out pricing in order to make a profit but not over-price.I also gained a good amount of people and negotiation skills. What would you do differently if you were to start over? If I were to start over, the biggest thing that I would change is being more particular about the clothes that I chose to put up for sale. I would sometimes feel desperate like I needed to put new items up and not posy items of good quality. Instead, I should have just waited and looked around more so that I posted better quality of clothing.
